Over 90% of climate scientists agree that climate change is accelerating due to human activity and the Defense Department has marked climate change as a national security issue, we must take this issue seriously. We must finally quit our addiction to oil & gas through policies to increase economic benefits of renewable energy sources. This includes: wind, solar, electric grid modernization, and hydrothermal options. The future is clean energy and the United States must take a leading role in innovation and research.
We fully support the efforts of the Environmental Protection Agency and will oppose any efforts taken to undermine or dismantle. We must oppose the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipeline to protect our natural resources and respect the Native reservations in North Dakota.
Here in CA25 we support the complete shutdown of the Chiquita Canyon landfill and oppose the expansion efforts. We support efforts to clean-up and fully regulate Aliso Canyon natural gas site and the Santa Susana Field Laboratory. Especially noticeable in our district, we must work to bring sustainable water resources to the valleys. This can be done through water recycling plants, which would provide enough water for our valleys while supplying sustainable job opportunities.
