Taking care of our veterans starts when they come home. For far too long, veterans have received sub-par care and deserve better. For those who have put their lives on the line for our nation, we must do better. We stand firm in our belief that the VA needs increased funding to give veterans access to vital treatment options for physical, and mental wounds.
We must also ensure that returning veterans receive the promise that was made over 70 years ago, by FDR, in the form of the GI Bill. We also seek to protect LGBTQ veterans through the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and updating discharge papers for those discharged due to their sexual orientation. We encourage the fight against sexual assault in the ranks, through aggressive programs seeking to prevent and prosecute. Here in CA25, we must fight for the expansion of a VA facility so our veterans can receive the care they need without driving into Los Angeles to seek it.
